thats a terrible argument.

the logic displayed is that a huge call at the end of a game needs to be called if it breaks the rules, no matter what the situation is. a silly no call in the first quarter means nothing at the end of the game, its not a game changing call.

I think the game should be called the same way from start to finish.

but an obvious missed call in the first is insignificant compared to a missed call in the waning stages of the game

Basketball is a game of momentum. Who's to say that call at the first of the game could have sent the Lakers on a scoring run or vice versa. You, nor anyone else can say one way ot the other. I disagree with your comment about the first of the game calls as opposed to the end of the game. Fouls at the first of the game directly affect the rest of the game, by playing time of players, and are as important if not more important than calls at the end of the game.

Exactly, if that's called like it should have been..game over of course and LA's the one in trouble. But I understand that a call like that would NEVER be called at Staples, unless it's the other way around. Should be a good one tonight.

NBA refs who make calls like that with that little time left on the clock are darned if they do/darned if they don't. It's either "they should have never inserted themselves in the game by letting a call decide the game, especially in the Finals", OR--it'd be "they should call the game by the letter of the rules, no matter what the situation on the floor/with the clock".

Like I said in the other thread--if Courtney Lee actually MAKES the shot (novel thought, huh kiddies?), all of this is moot. Heck, I almost wish Lee WOULD have made the shot so I wouldn't have to listen to people complain about goaltending not being called on an alley-oop inbounds play with 0.6 seconds to go. It's getting annoying.

Joey Crawford is the worst NBA official. Every single time, there is a questionable call... his name is mentioned as the official.

He's just horrible, for L.A., and Orlando.
